Bird Is the Word

Hi There!

I hope you are all having a great weekend. Congrats to all the Swans supporters out there! We had a great time watching the AFL Grand Final with a group of friends. We don't always get to catch up with this group of friends so it was great to see them  & have a few laughs & a few drinks.
Just sharing my entry for the Bird Is the Word challenge. The word is 'story'

I have used Prima Tea Thyme & a Prima clock

The dusty pink flower is Prima. The others are all Green Tara

The chipboard fence is Dusty Attic. I have just smudged some gesso for a shabby look

Shabby Chic goodness for Bird is The Word

Hi There!

Yay it is school holidays now in Victoria & the sun is shining (I say Yay now lets see at the end of 2 weeks if I still feel the same way LOL!)

I have had a play over at Bird Is The Word. The word is 'spirit'
The title is a bit tongue in cheek as I often describe my little  Evie Jools personality as 'Full of Spirit' AKA cheeky monkey!
I finally took the chance to lash out & buy some new Prima that was on my wish list. I had been drooling over the nrew resins, zips & the Tea Thyme collection which I used on this page
The flowers are all Prima & are a mix of old & new product

A closeup of one of the smaller resins & the junkyard finding zip

My fav resin. I think this one is just so sweet!

Another flower cluster of old & new Prima flowers

This page was just for fun. I have used the GORGEOUS September LE kit from My Creative Scrapbook. thsi was full of Prima Romance Novel & the new wooden Prima doors & clocks which I thought were pretty cool!

I tried to embrace the dark grungy colours of this collection & still make it look girl. This pic is my fav of Kayla & I. it was taken at her kinder earlier this year for Mothers Day
The new Prima wooden clock with some Romance Novel blooms. The die is MFT

some Prima wooden tickets & buttons

Another junkyard finding zipper & the alphas are Prima Romance Novel too

My Creative Sketches

Hi There!

The new sketch is up over at My Creative sketches. The sketch is awesome & of course so is the prize!

I have used some of the My Creative Scrapbook August LE kit. This was such a gorgeous kit full of Prima Fairybelle goodies! I have added a few different Prima flowers from my stash
I have used A Mr Hueys Studi Calico mask with some gesso. Once it was dry & used a Kaisercraft scrpit stamp & a butterfly stamp

How amazing is that photo of My Brother & SIL! The sky looks gorgeous!

The chipboard frames are from 2 crafty which I painted with cream acrylic paint & used teh Kaisercraft scipt stamp again. I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam as a top coat to give a pretty shine

I have a few more pages to show you soon. I have been playing with some new Prima goodies!

I was so happy to see I was featured on the Prima blog yesterday with my Prima August PPP page! I also have 2 pages being published in an Scrapbook Creations in the next few months & have a couple of GDT spots on the horizon! This helped take the sting out of not making it as a Scrapbooking Memories Master LOL! Iv'e learnt over time that yep rejection stings but it is so worthwhile putting yourself out there!

I hope you have all had some good scrappy news come your way too XX

Thanks for looking!

The Color Room & Scrap The Boys

Hi There!

I have combined a couple of challenges for this project. I was inspired by the grungy feel of these 2 challenges at The Color Room & Scrap The Boys

So I have used the colour palette from The Color Room along with using the chevron pattern & have used the Scrap the Boys base & this is what I came up with

I have used a mix of papers again with some VERY OLD Stampin Up as the stripy background, Kraft bubble dot cardstock, MME Follow your Heart & Crate Paper Toy Box

To grunge up the page I used my Crafters Workshop Chevron mask & some black ink, dry brushed some gesso, sprayed some Tattered Angels Torquise mist & splatted some Tattered Angels Candy Apple mist. I also used a Kaisercraft stamp in the bottom left & top right corner

This chippie is from Scrap FX

The Chipboard sticker plane is Crate Paper Toy Box. The Kites are chippies from 2 Crafty which I covered with PP & twine. The Mini alphas are from Simple Stories Summer Fresh

More Crate Paper Toy Box chipboard stickers. The pic is of Hunter (in the green) with his buddy Jack. Jack is my good friend Nelle's Son. We met them at Mum's group 7 years ago. The boys bdays are 5 days apart

On Tuesday I travelled to Melbourne to attend a Prima class held by Janine Koczwara! I am a HUGE fan of Janine's work & was super excited to go. The page Janine taught was extremely beautiful & Janine herself is just gorgeous! She is so nice & it was great to meet her after stalking her blog for a while now LOL!

Me & Janine after the class
My take on  Janine's page. How dreamy is this page! I luv the details & layers Janine uses. You should feel how heavy the page is with all the embellies!! I was in Prima heaven!!

If you joined in the recent Blog Hop at My Creative Scrapbook some winners have been announced here! I hope you were one of the lucky ones!

Scrap The Girls

Hi There!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend! Hunter had a couple of mates around for a sleep over for his birthday. The boys were so well behaved & our first offcial sleep over went off without a hitch!

Scrap The Girls have a great challenge for September. The theme is sports or action shots. I used a photo of Kayla boogy boarding in Marlo earlier this year

I have used a mix of Websters pages Everyday Poetry & Yacht Club. To add a bit of texture to the background I used some torn pieces of tissue paper & stcuk it on with modge podge then I used some gesso & some honey comb mesh as a mask. I then sprayed & splashed some Gold Glimmer mist to give a gorgeous shine.
The flowers & resin are a mix of Prima & the white floral spray is Green Tara

I have used my Martha Stewart Deep fan punch (one of my fav's!). The bobble trim is just from the $2 shop. The bloomer is Websters Pages which I dabbed some gesso to tone the blue colour down

I was really excited to be featured at Once Upon A Sketch & The Color Room last week!

Thankyou to everyone that  joined in the blog hop! Thankyou for all of your gorgeous comments.
